3D Creature Development

This video shows my progress developing a creature from design to animation in seven days. Created for a Gnomon master class that stopped at look-development, I continued to develop the creature for a new Gnomon Workshop training series that is coming soon. But for now, this video is an entertaining glimpse at the kind of work that I do.

Beautiful, it was really interesting seeing what steps you go through to create a creature and animate it (seven days? Can only dream of that at this stage). Definitely be keeping an eye out for the training series.

That was awesome! I see you have further developed the stages from the masterclass in 2009. Even though Ive seen the part to the pose testings, think I will buy this extended DVD =) Great work Alex! Don’t know how you manage to do that much in the short period of time you must have!

I think it comes down to the spark that
you explained in one of the interviews. Everything
else in life follows if you do the right thing.

It was a great masterclass experience!!

Thanks for all the feedback!!! Very much appreciated. We anticipate the release to be in May. It could be sooner but probably not due to all the materials that need to be manufactured and put together (discs, book, custom packaging, etc…).

I have been looking around http://www.alexalvarez.com and really am impressed by the terrific content here. I work the nightshift at my job and it really gets boring. I have been coming here for the past couple nights and reading. I simply needed to let you know that I’ve been enjoying what I have seen and I look ahead to reading more.
